Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if this is the right service for me?

Navigating IVF, IUI, or adoption can be a difficult process. Typically, your medical team will request a psychological assessment to continue. If your medical team requested an assessment, this is the appropriate service for you.

I do not want to be a roadblock for you on your journey. We can use this time to discuss what this journey means to you and answer questions you may have.

I prioritize these evaluations and get reports back as soon as I can so you can continue with your treatment.

Feel free to book a free consultation to ask any additional questions you have.

What are the details of this visit?

  • The assessment consists of: one 60-120 minute interview, some self-report measures, and possible review of medical records.

  • Following the assessment, I will provide you with a written report within two weeks via a secure online portal. With permission, I can also email a copy to your medical team.

  • The assessment is a one-time, flat fee of $350.

What happens if I want therapy?

Going through IVF, IUI, and adoption can bring up stress/worry, activation of past negative experiences, or stress navigating medical systems. If these are things you are experiencing, ongoing therapeutic support throughout this process might be helpful.

Additionally, hormones or certain medications can lead to mood fluctuation, depression, or anxiety. Many people benefit from therapy to build skills to assist in managing these mood changes.

If you have any additional questions, or you are interested in ongoing therapy, please bring them up when you speak with me.

WORKING WITH ME

We will work together to identify treatment goals. I will bring my experience, different perspectives, encouragement, support, and accountability. At the same time, you bring your unique life experience and knowledge to the space. Both perspectives are equal and important to establishing the partnership of therapy. With this in mind, I will listen to what is and is not working. I always welcome your feedback, if you are comfortable sharing it. My goal is to ensure a safe space for you.

Personally, I identify as a queer, Jewish, cisgender woman (she/her/hers pronouns). I share this information for your comfort if you wish to work with someone who inhabits these identities, but I work with everyone who needs support. Professionally, I welcome conversations of identity into the therapeutic space, as we do not exist in a vacuum and the greater systems we interact with have an effect on our mental and physical health. I approach therapy from a feminist and culturally humble perspective and tailor evidence-based practices to the individual in front of me.
