What will therapy be like?

This is a great question! I sees therapy as a partnership. While the therapist can provide support, offer education, and challenge perspective, that isn’t everything. You bring your life experience and knowledge to the table.

I rely on scientific knowledge while tailoring approaches that work best for you. With this in mind, I will listen to you to understand what is/is not working. You are also welcome to provide feedback on how things are going, if you are comfortable sharing feedback.

I know we do not exist in vacuums. If you feel comfortable, I encourage you to explore how our gender, socioeconomic status, race, and education plays into our day-to-day. I take a feminist and culturally humble perspective with all clients.

How often do I need attend therapy?

  • Therapy occurs weekly, every other week, or monthly. We will determine the best cadence for you together.

  • Appointments can either be 25min or 55min. Sessions usually end a few minutes early so Dr. Tahler can transition to her next client.

  • All visits are teletherapy.

  • 25 min visits are $150.

  • 55 min visits are $300.

  • I do not accept insurance, but I can provide superbills that can be submitted to your insurance company. Commonly, superbills can be applied to your deductible or out of pocket deductible.

How much is therapy?

WORKING WITH ME

We will work together to identify treatment goals. I will bring my experience, different perspectives, encouragement, support, and accountability. At the same time, you bring your unique life experience and knowledge to the space. Both perspectives are equal and important to establishing the partnership of therapy. With this in mind, I will listen to what is and is not working. I always welcome your feedback, if you are comfortable sharing it. My goal is to ensure a safe space for you.

Personally, I identify as a queer, Jewish, cisgender woman (she/her/hers pronouns). I share this information for your comfort if you wish to work with someone who inhabits these identities, but I work with everyone who needs support. Professionally, I welcome conversations of identity into the therapeutic space, as we do not exist in a vacuum and the greater systems we interact with have an effect on our mental and physical health. I approach therapy from a feminist and culturally humble perspective and tailor evidence-based practices to the individual in front of me.
